Structural Engineer

Hemel Hempstead | Hybrid Working | £36,000 – £46,000

I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy seeking a Structural Engineer with 2+ years' consultancy experience to join its Hemel Hempstead office.

Working across both private and public sector projects, the consultancy delivers a diverse portfolio ranging from bespoke homes to major regeneration schemes, new housing developments and commercial projects.

The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will be involved in the design and analysis of a variety of building structures, working closely with clients, architects and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural design and analysis of buildings and structural elements.
• Preparing structural calculations, reports and sketches.
• Reviewing and checking technical drawings.
• Coordinating with clients, architects and other consultants.
• Managing your own workload and delivering projects to agreed timescales.
• Contributing to technical standards and continuous improvement.

About You

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering; JBM-accredited preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience within a structural engineering consultancy.
• Good working knowledge of UK design standards and Eurocodes.
• Strong technical, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience working with volume housebuilders would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Working towards Chartership with the ICE or IStructE would be advantageous.
