Global Reward Director
Permanent, full-time | £90,000 - £110,000 base + 16% bonus | Hybrid, 2 days a week in London, Bournemouth or Stockport
I'm working with a purpose-led global health and life insurer on a senior reward role, and it's a brilliant one for someone who wants to own reward strategy at a fast-paced business.
They've just completed 2 acquisitions in the US and are rolling out an exciting global strategy, so reward is right at the centre of things. Reward is being centralised in the UK to support the whole global business, and you'd set the strategy, bring consistency across every market and lead the harmonisation work in the US businesses.
There's also real budget behind modernising how reward is done. A new compensation system is a priority, so you'd lead that implementation and move the team off spreadsheets.
It's a hands-on role as well as a strategic one. You'd lead a small, experienced reward team and a self-sufficient UK payroll team of 3, so payroll is oversight and governance rather than running it day to day.
What you'd be doing
- Setting and evolving the global reward strategy, linked to the business's growth plans and People strategy
- Building a globally aligned reward framework, including job architecture, with consistent principles and governance across markets
- Leading reward harmonisation in the recently acquired US businesses
- Leading the implementation of a new compensation planning system
- Owning salary structures, incentive plans and benefits, and advising on executive and senior leadership pay
- Running the annual reward cycle: bonus, benefits window, salary review and benchmarking
- Setting a clear approach to fair pay and pay transparency
- Keeping UK payroll compliant and well governed
- Working closely with senior leaders across People, Finance and Legal
What they're looking for
- Senior reward leadership experience across multiple countries (US experience isn't essential)
- Strong experience in salary structures, benchmarking and reward design
- Reward work on acquisitions, integrations or harmonisation
- Deep knowledge of compensation, incentives, executive remuneration and benefits
- Familiarity with benchmarking data such as WTW or Remchannel, and HR systems such as SuccessFactors
- Experience implementing reward or compensation systems would be a real plus
- Confidence influencing executives
- Someone happy to lead a small team and still get stuck into the detail
- Consultancy (WTW or similar) or financial services experience would be a real bonus, and an experienced Head of Reward ready for the step up would also be considered
What's on offer
- £90,000 - £110,000 base plus 16% bonus
- Pension with employer matching up to 6%
- Private health insurance, a personal health fund and wellbeing support
- Life assurance up to 4x salary
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Hybrid, 2 days a week in the London, Bournemouth or Stockport office
First interviews are planned from 16th November, so they are moving quickly.
