Monday to Friday 37.5 hours

Rotational Shift (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM)

Salary up to £32,000 



The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Shift Manager to lead our client’s Outbound Department, ensuring that quality and efficiency are delivered consistently within budgeted costs. As a Shift Manager, you will play a crucial role in the management and development of a team of Team Leaders and up to 20 warehouse operatives.

What you’ll do:

  • You will be overseeing and guiding a team of Team Leaders and up to 20 warehouse operatives, providing ongoing management and development. 
  • Maintain a regular and consistent approach to appraising all staff under their direct control and will be responsible for achieving required KPIs and SLAs within the agreed budget. 
  • Monitor process compliance for team members under their control and organize resources, such as equipment and labour, on a day-to-day basis to cope with required activity levels. 
  • Plan and liaise with agency labour providers to deliver a ramp-up staffing plan to achieve large volume uplifts. 
  • Overall responsibility for the quality of work carried out by the teams will be a key responsibility, with the Shift Manager ensuring that QC checks are carried out at various stages, results are monitored, and areas for improvements are identified and implemented. 
  • Health and safety compliance within the team will also be a priority, and the successful candidate will be expected to constantly seek out continual improvement and best practices within the team.


What you’ll need:

  • Experience in First Line Manager duties from a 3PL / Manufacturing / Production distribution or warehousing background.
  • Effective leadership with a ‘can do’ mentality
  • Numerate with an aptitude for detail
  • Effective planning skills e.g. resource deployment etc.
  • Use of Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office 
  • Awareness of Health and Safety practices
  • Effective communicator at all levels
