Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

Location: Kent 

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

An established building services consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career within a collaborative team delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions across a range of commercial, residential, and public sector projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop mechanical building services designs for HVAC, plumbing, and energy systems.
• Produce design calculations, specifications, and technical drawings to support project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, structural, and sustainability consultants.
• Contribute to project proposals, reports, and client presentations.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and handover phases.

What we’re looking for:

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical building services design, preferably within consultancy.
• Proficient in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, or equivalent design software.
• Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and energy-efficient building systems.
• Knowledge of UK building regulations and sustainability standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience in residential projects necessary
