A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Design Engineer to join its growing infrastructure and transport planning division. With established offices across the Northeast, Southeast, and Midlands, the firm supports both public and private sector clients, including major commercial developers, on projects throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design of highway and infrastructure projects to ensure delivery within scope, time, and budget
• Allocate resources efficiently across teams to meet deadlines and priorities
• Liaise with senior leadership to support projects across multiple offices and disciplines
• Ensure designs comply with statutory and local authority requirements
• Undertake, review, and sign off design work and technical reports
• Adhere to national standards (e.g., DMRB, MCHW) and apply relevant design guidance
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement across project delivery
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and implement effective risk management

Requirements:

Essential:

• Strong experience with S278/S38 highway design projects
• Excellent project and team management skills
• Solid technical expertise across highway design disciplines
• Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget
• Ability to mentor and develop junior staff
• Knowledge of DMRB and highway contracts
• Proficiency in drainage design and use of Flow/Causeway PDS
• Working knowledge of Civil 3D
• Comfortable advising clients and stakeholders at a senior level
• Valid UK driving licence
