Civil Engineering Technician | Manchester
We are working with a well-established and growing engineering consultancy in Manchester who are looking to appoint an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join their technical team. This is a hands-on role for someone with a background in civil engineering projects, offering exposure to varied and technically challenging schemes.
As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will support the engineering team by producing accurate technical drawings and design information across a range of civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, highways, drainage, and associated civil works. You will work on live projects from concept through to construction and collaborate closely with engineers and senior technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Producing and updating 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience advantageous)
Preparing detailed design drawings for highways, drainage, and infrastructure schemes
Working from engineers’ mark-ups, design calculations, and site information
Ensuring drawings comply with company and industry standards
Supporting the wider engineering team with technical documentation
Contributing to project delivery and providing technical input
We are seeking candidates who:
Have 2+ years’ experience in a civil engineering technician or CAD role
Are proficient in AutoCAD
Have experience producing drawings for highways, drainage, or infrastructure projects
Are detail-oriented, technically minded, and able to work independently
Have strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
Are keen to progress within a civil engineering consultancy environment
