Graduate Economics Consultant (Environmental Planning)
Location: London (Hybrid Working Available)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 DOE
A leading consultancy within the strategic planning and development sector is looking to recruit a Graduate Consultant to join their Economics team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for economics, the environment, planning, and data-driven insight to start their career within a supportive and dynamic environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Consultants and Directors on a variety of projects across the UK, providing technical and strategic input to support development proposals, local economic strategies, and regeneration schemes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research and analysis across areas such as local planning policy, economic development, demographics, and housing need.
- Preparing written reports and quantitative analyses to support evidence-based recommendations.
- Assisting with the preparation of economic and socio-economic impact assessments.
- Supporting senior team members in the preparation of client-facing documents and presentations.
- Engaging with stakeholders including local authorities, developers, and community groups.
- Attending occasional site visits and client meetings.
About You
Requirements will include:
- A degree in Economics, Geography, Real Estate, or a related discipline (with transferable analytical skills).
- Strong data analysis skills, particularly using Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to write clear, concise reports combining quantitative and qualitative insights.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
Desirable:
- Up to one year of relevant experience in economics, town planning, or real estate (though not essential).
- Understanding or interest in UK macroeconomics, housing policy, local economic development, or regeneration.
- A full UK driving licence (beneficial but not essential).
