Health & Safety Advisor

Location: London (Multi‑Site)

We’re working with a well‑established specialist construction contractor to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support a portfolio of live, fast‑moving construction projects across London.

This is a great opportunity for a mid‑to‑senior level H&S professional who enjoys being site‑based, visible and influential, helping to embed strong health and safety standards while promoting a positive, proactive safety culture.

The Role

You’ll work closely with site teams, management and contractors to ensure health and safety practices are implemented, maintained and continuously improved across multiple projects. The role is hands‑on and advisory, with real influence on site behaviours and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance
  • Develop, review and support site‑specific risk assessments and method statements
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, implementing corrective and preventative actions
  • Deliver health & safety inductions, briefings and training to site teams and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with UK health & safety legislation and internal policies
  • Advise project teams and management on best practice for health, safety and environmental protection
  • Maintain accurate H&S records, reports and documentation
  • Promote a proactive, positive safety culture across all live sites
  • Support continuous improvement of H&S management systems and procedures
  • Monitor and review contractor health & safety performance

About You

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within construction
  • Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Diploma advantageous)
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and site operations
  • Confident communicator, able to engage with site teams and management
  • Experience carrying out risk assessments, audits and incident investigations
  • Comfortable using H&S management systems and reporting tools
  • Proactive, organised and able to operate across multiple sites
