Our Client is  looking to expand their Production and Manufacturing team due to significant growth within the company 


Duties and Responsibilities of the role are:

  • To work in accordance with Environment, Health and Safety policy, 
  • Carry out tasks requested by the Factory Supervisor, Factory Manager provide effective communication and reporting to team members and Management.
  • The role holder must have the ability to read and understand assembly drawings 
  • Packing and bundling of assembled products in line with procedures, 
  • A knowledge & understanding of the use of hand and bench tools is required.
  • This is largely a manual role that will require some technical competence to operate tooling & machinery and perform some basic maintenance as well as computer skills to read assembly drawings. 
  • The role may require you to think on your feet as you deal with unplanned situations in a calm manner. There is a need to demonstrate commitment to our values and business goals as well as being flexible, innovative and team focused.

Quality:

  • Responsibility for ensuring that all products and processes meet all required internal and external standards by:
  • Working with the team to ensure all products are produced to the defined specifications. 
  • To carry out regular quality checks in line with Quality Procedures.
  • Quarantine and re-work, as necessary, non-conforming products. 

Reliability: 

  • Maintaining basic equipment condition using visual standards.
  • To liaise with the Factory Manager & factory Supervisor to report equipment failure.
  • Assist and support Health and Safety Officers & Reps in carrying out their Health and Safety duties.

Cost:

  • Minimising sources of waste during routine tasks
  • Recycle waste appropriately reducing costs.
  • Focus on right first time.
  • To work towards achieving the Company KPI’s.

  • To support the Continuous Improvement culture through adopted techniques.
  • Use good workplace organisation method.


Self-development:

  • To operate towards the work instructions to ensure compliance to each task and ensure competence within current grade and continually be able to demonstrate this.
  • To pro-actively pursue self-development by asking for feedback and using material and tools available such as eLearning programmes.


General:

Assuming person has the required skills, they may be required to work in any position dictated by the Factory Manager or Factory Supervisor throughout the Factory, including other functions.


Qualifications / Experience and Desirables

  • Maths and English, GCSE or equivalent 
  • Well organised 
  • NVQ level 2 Manufacturing Operations dsirable
  • FLT Counterbalance licence desirable
  • Abrasive Wheels  desirable

Working hours are full time 39 hours per week.

Salary £10.42 per hour
