Senior Structural Engineer

A leading, well-established engineering consultancy in Surrey is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing buildings team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer who enjoys delivering high-quality structural design across a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential projects.
Working on behalf of our client, we are looking for a technically strong engineer with the ability to manage projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the successful delivery of structural solutions from concept through to construction.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of building structures across a range of commercial and residential developments. You will work closely with architects, developers, and multidisciplinary teams to produce efficient and practical design solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading structural design for commercial and residential building projects
Preparing calculations, reports, and structural drawings
Managing projects from concept through to detailed design and construction stages
Liaising with clients, architects, and contractors to coordinate design solutions
Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians
Attending design meetings and site visits where required
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE)
Proven experience designing building structures in the UK
Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design
Experience delivering residential and commercial projects
Proficiency with structural design software and relevant codes (Eurocodes)
Excellent communication and project management skills
