Principal Acoustic Consultant

Location: Remote (UK)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (DOE)
Full-time, Permanent

A well-established UK consultancy operating across the built environment is looking to appoint a Principal Acoustic Consultant to support a growing project pipeline.

This role would suit someone looking to take the next step in their career, with greater ownership of projects while continuing to develop technically within a collaborative team.

The Role

You’ll be working across a varied portfolio including residential, education, healthcare and commercial developments, delivering both building and environmental acoustics work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing acoustic projects from initial brief through to completion
• Undertaking environmental noise assessments and acoustic design work
• Carrying out noise surveys and site-based testing when required
• Producing technical reports and supporting junior team members
• Liaising directly with clients, architects and design teams

About You

• Degree (or equivalent) in Acoustics or a related STEM subject (with Acoustics specialism)
• Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (or working towards)
• Experience in building and/or environmental acoustics
• Familiar with standards such as BS 4142 and planning-related noise assessments
• Strong report writing and client communication skills
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Experience with sound insulation testing
• Familiarity with CadnaA or similar modelling software
• Exposure to BREEAM assessments (Hea 05 / Pol 05)
