Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

Fully Remote – UK Based

£48,000 – £58,000

An established Building Services consultancy is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer to its growing team on a fully remote basis.

The role would ideally suit someone already operating at Senior level, although strong Mechanical Engineers who are ready to take that next step will also be considered.

The consultancy offers a steady project pipeline and consistent workload, giving you the opportunity to work on a varied range of Building Services projects without the uncertainty that can come with a fast-changing environment.

The Role

This position is focused on design and build projects, working closely with contractors and project teams to develop practical, buildable mechanical solutions.

You’ll take ownership of the mechanical design, helping drive projects from concept through to completion. Previous experience working for, or closely alongside, a major contractor would be highly beneficial, as the role requires someone who understands the practical demands of design and build delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading mechanical design across design and build projects
• Developing practical and buildable engineering solutions
• Producing mechanical calculations, specifications and drawings
• Making and taking ownership of key design decisions
• Working closely with contractors, clients and project teams
• Ensuring designs meet current regulations, standards and best practice
• Supporting projects from initial concept through to completion

What They're Looking For

• HNC, HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer
• Ideally, experience working with or alongside a major contractor
• Strong mechanical design and Building Services knowledge
• Confidence to take ownership of designs and lead projects
• Practical, solutions-focused approach
• Reliable, proactive and easy to work with
