Our client, one of the main leaders in the beauty and fashion industry, is seeking an Accountant with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, to join their Global Financial Services team based in Barcelona for the Greek market. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment, providing financial services to subsidiaries worldwide.
In this role, you will play a key role in executing, supporting, and supervising core financial operations, including general ledger management, journal entry processing, and monthly tax declarations, while ensuring compliance with international standards.
Key Languages:
- Bilingual proficiency or equivalent in Greek
- Full professional level of English
- Full professional level of Spanish (a plus)
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes, ensuring compliance with group accounting rules and accurate reporting
- Manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring reliability and adherence to group and statutory standards
- Coordinate quarterly inter-company reconciliations and prepare group financial reports
- Collaborate with tax advisors to provide information for monthly tax declarations and corporate income tax calculations
- Lead external audit processes and maintain statutory accounting records in line with local standards
- Develop yearly balance sheet and cash flow budgets, as well as forecasts
- Control and manage fixed assets, ensuring proper accounting and reporting
Core Skills/experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Accountant in a similar role, preferably in a shared services environment with multi-currency postings and large intercompany reconciliations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, analytical skills, and autonomy, with experience managing international stakeholders.
- Expertise in SAP and MS Office tools.
- Adaptability to change and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
