About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and commercially driven Business-to-Business Account Manager to join a growing and fast-paced organisation based in Bedford. This role is ideal for someone with strong relationship-building skills, a consultative sales approach, and proven experience managing B2B client accounts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing long-term client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring excellent service delivery to maximise account growth and profitability. Similar Bedford-based B2B account management roles commonly focus on both new business development and existing client retention, with salaries typically starting around £30,000–£40,000+ depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing B2B customer accounts
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through outbound sales activity
- Build strong client relationships and act as the main point of contact
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and service agreements
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms to maximise profitability
- Maintain accurate CRM records and account activity reports
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth service delivery
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively resolve issues
- Achieve monthly revenue, margin, and retention targets
- Stay up to date with market trends and competitor activity
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in account management, business development, or B2B sales
- Proven track record of managing and growing client accounts
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent organisation and time management abilities
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Self-motivated with a target-driven mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Desirable
- Experience within IT, professional services, recruitment, or commercial sales
- Background in consultative sales or solution-based selling
- Previous experience handling high-value client accounts
