We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Home Manager in leading a therapeutic children's residential home in Wirral.

Supporting the Registered Home Manager in the daily management and operation of the home
Leading, motivating and developing the residential team to deliver outstanding care and support
Assisting with staff recruitment, induction, probation reviews, and retention strategies
Conducting regular supervisions, appraisals and performance reviews to support staff development
Preparing and managing staff rotas, ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times
Ensuring children and young people receive high-quality, person-centred care that meets their individual needs and promotes independence, wellbeing and personal development
Supporting the implementation, monitoring and review of individual care plans, placement plans and risk assessments
Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people while acting as a strong, positive role model
Encouraging participation in education, hobbies, community activitie,s and life skills development
Promoting positive behaviour support strategies and therapeutic approaches that build emotional resilience and healthy relationships
Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Children's Health and Social Care
Previous experience working within a children's residential care setting
Previous experience in a Deputy Manager or management role
A strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and child protection procedures
Experience supervising or leading staff within a care environment
Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to make sound decisions under pressure while maintaining a child-focused approach
Desirable:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or a genuine willingness to work towards it)
