This role suits an experienced invoice finance professional who enjoys managing client relationships, balancing risk, and supporting portfolio growth. You’ll work closely with internal sales, operations, and credit teams to ensure clients are supported effectively while facilities operate within agreed parameters.

The Role

As a Relationship Manager, you will manage a mixed portfolio of invoice finance clients, focusing on retention, service quality, and risk management. You will support onboarding, oversee funding decisions within delegated authority, and contribute to portfolio reviews and client strategy discussions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop strong relationships across a portfolio of invoice finance clients.
  • Maximise retention and manage contract renewals within acceptable parameters.
  • Support day-to-day activity of relationship executives to ensure funding availability.
  • Carry out regular client reviews, visits, and audits to manage risk and recoveries.
  • Prepare and contribute to monthly portfolio review meetings.
  • Make funding decisions within credit authority levels, including limits and concentrations.
  • Communicate funding decisions clearly and professionally with clients.
  • Support onboarding of new clients, working closely with sales and operations.
  • Assist with new business structuring and underwriting discussions.
  • Handle client matters fairly, consistently, and in line with regulatory expectations.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, and report financial and risk information.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in invoice finance or a similar sector.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in operations and client-facing roles.
  • Relevant ABFA or UK Finance qualification (foundation or certificate preferred).
