A growing engineering consultancy is looking to strengthen its team with an experienced Civil Engineer specialising in water and infrastructure.

Working across a range of development and infrastructure projects, the business provides civil engineering expertise covering potable water, surface water, foul water, drainage and sustainable drainage.

This is an opportunity for an engineer with around 3+ years’ industry experience to take on varied project work, develop their technical expertise and progress towards professional accreditation.

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in the design and delivery of water and infrastructure solutions, working across multiple projects from initial design through to approval and delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing potable, surface and foul water infrastructure
  • Producing detailed drainage designs and 3D models
  • Using software such as MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage
  • Preparing designs and technical information for Water Authority approvals
  • Working with processes including Section 104 and Section 106 agreements
  • Supporting projects requiring SuDS Approval Body (SAB) involvement
  • Managing multiple projects and prioritising workloads to meet key deadlines
  • Liaising with clients, authorities and other project stakeholders
  • Producing clear technical reports, drawings and supporting documentation
  • Working both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider engineering team

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years' experience within the water industry
  • Experience in potable, surface and foul water design and/or construction
  • A Civil Engineering degree, ideally at Master's level
  • Experience with MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or similar 3D design/modelling software
  • Knowledge of Water Authority statutory approval processes, particularly S104/S106
  • Understanding of SuDS and SAB requirements
  • A proactive and methodical approach to project delivery
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • A commitment to professional development, with progression towards ICE or CIWEM membership desirable
