Energy Modeller 

Location: Liverpool - With travel to Cheshire

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

A successful provider of technical compliance and sustainability services is looking to hire an experienced Energy Modeller to join their growing team.

The ideal candidate will be part of a team helping to deliver a range of projects, using technical expertise to do determine the best sustainability practices for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out dynamic thermal modelling (using IES VE or similar) for overheating, energy, and carbon assessments
  • Support the delivery of compliance services, including Part L, TM59, TM52, and EPC modelling
  • Undertake passive design and energy strategy assessments for planning submissions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to integrate sustainable design principles
  • Prepare clear, concise reports to communicate technical results and recommendations
  • Contribute to innovation in tools, workflows, and best practice across the team
  • Keep up to date with changing regulations, technologies, and sustainability standards

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in Building Physics, Environmental Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in a building performance, sustainability, or M&E consultancy environment
  • Proficiency in building simulation tools (e.g. IES VE, DesignBuilder, TAS)
  • Familiarity with UK regulations (Part L, SAP, SBEM), CIBSE guidance, and relevant industry frameworks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset
  • Effective communication skills and an eye for detail
  • A passion for sustainability and innovation in the built environment
  • Working knowledge of BREEAM, WELL, or other certification schemes
