Project Manager

AMB Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading contractor within the civil engineering and highways sector to recruit an experienced Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of civil engineering and highways projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, programme, and resource allocation

  • Lead, manage, and motivate project teams and subcontractors

  • Oversee day-to-day project delivery, ensuring milestones and targets are achieved

  • Manage project budgets, costs, and financial reporting

  • Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies

  • Ensure quality standards and compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with internal stakeholders

  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to senior management

About You

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and highways project delivery.

Essential requirements:

  • HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

  • Proven experience managing large-scale civil and/or highways engineering projects

  • Strong knowledge of highways, civil works, and drainage (essential)

  • Demonstrable project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and risk management

  • Excellent leadership and people management capabilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach

  • Full, clean UK driving licence
