Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Derby - Travel to Nottingham
Salary: £50,000 - £58,000
A multi-disciplinary consulting and engineering firm is looking to hire an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Nottingham. The ideal candidate will passionate and pro-active, helping the team to achieve the most suitable solutions for clients and the environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as Project Leader, managing design delivery and coordination
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team on larger or complex projects
- Carry out engineering calculations or provide guidance to others in their completion
- Prepare detailed drawings and technical specifications in line with project requirements.
- Be actively involved throughout all project stages—from concept through to completion.
- Support business development efforts by fostering repeat work through excellent client care.
- Attend key meetings and deliver client presentations for assigned projects.
What we’re looking for:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (Chartered preferred or working towards) – HNC/HND candidates with suitable design experience will also be considered
- Minimum of 3-4 years of design experience within building services
- A good understanding of HV/LV systems, and HTM’s beneficial
- Proficiency in Relux/Dialux. Amtech, Revit and Microsoft
- Knowledge of BREEAM and integration of embedded generation
- In depth knowledge of British and European Standards, Building Regulations documents etc
