Flood Risk Consultant (Ad Hoc Basis – Outside IR35 – Fully Remote)

We’re seeking an experienced Flood Risk Consultant to support our clients team on an ad hoc, flexible basis. This role is outside IR35 and fully remote, offering the freedom to work from anywhere while contributing to a variety of engaging and meaningful projects.

About the Role:

You’ll provide expert input on flood risk assessments, drainage strategies, and surface water management plans for a diverse range of development and infrastructure projects. Your insight will help ensure compliance with planning policy, client requirements, and best practice standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
• Advise on surface water management and SuDS design principles.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and other consultants as required.
• Support project teams with technical guidance and quality assurance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in flood risk assessment and drainage strategy development.
• Strong understanding of UK planning policy and flood modelling techniques.
• Ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and deliver to deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
