Project Manager - Tech for Good.

4 days remote / 1 day in office

We are an award-winning not-for-profit organization committed to empowering communities and delivering impactful services that support societal well-being. Our work is centered around helping some of the most vulnerable members of society, and we strive to make a meaningful difference in their lives. To achieve our mission more effectively, we have embraced technology as a key driver for efficiency, allowing us to maximize our resources and reinvest more into the communities we serve.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to spearhead a company-wide transformation initiative. This significant project will encompass multiple domains, including DevOps, automation, software development, and our broader technical landscape. In addition to managing these substantial changes, the Project Manager will ensure the smooth continuation of business-as-usual (BAU) activities. This is a crucial role that requires a skilled leader to guide us through this transformative journey while fostering alignment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a comprehensive transformation project that spans DevOps, automation, software development, and infrastructure enhancements. Ensure that project objectives are met on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Methodology Application: Utilize Prince2 project management methodologies to structure and manage the project effectively. While our organization predominantly operates using Prince2, we are open to incorporating Agile frameworks where they can add value.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and other departments, to ensure seamless project execution. Promote a culture of teamwork, open communication, and shared success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including senior management, team members, and external partners. Ensure transparent communication and maintain strong relationships to align all parties on project goals and progress.
  • Change Management: Develop and implement comprehensive change management strategies to support the organization through the transition. Facilitate the adoption of new processes and technologies, ensuring minimal disruption to BAU activities.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to address them proactively. Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to address emerging challenges or changing priorities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by evaluating project outcomes, identifying lessons learned, and applying insights to future projects. Foster a culture of innovation and adaptability within the team and organization.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience: Proven experience managing large-scale projects, particularly those involving software deployments, process change, and technical infrastructure enhancements. Exposure to DevOps and automation implementations is highly desirable.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong proficiency in Prince2 methodologies, with a pragmatic approach to integrating Agile practices where appropriate. Demonstrated ability to lead projects from inception through to completion.
  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. A collaborative mindset and the ability to drive alignment and consensus across diverse teams.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and act tactically as needed.
  • Passion for Impact: A genuine passion for making a difference in the community and improving the lives of vulnerable individuals. An understanding of the unique challenges faced by not-for-profit organizations and a commitment to our mission.
