Location: Bristol (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 DOE + Benefits

I’m currently working with a well-established independent acoustic consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Acoustic Consultant to join its growing team in Bristol.

This consultancy has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality acoustic consultancy services across the UK, supporting developers, architects, planners and engineers on a wide range of projects. Their work spans environmental noise, planning acoustics and building acoustics, with a strong portfolio of projects including residential, mixed-use, commercial, infrastructure and public sector developments.

With a healthy pipeline of projects and a collaborative team environment, this role offers an opportunity for an experienced consultant to take on greater responsibility, manage projects and contribute to the continued growth of the consultancy.

The Role

As a Senior Acoustic Consultant, you will take a leading role in the delivery of acoustic consultancy projects, working closely with clients and internal team members.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and delivering building acoustics assessments  
  • Undertaking and overseeing noise surveys, site measurements and data analysis
  • Preparing and reviewing technical acoustic reports
  • Liaising with clients, architects, planners and project teams
  • Supporting junior consultants with technical guidance and mentoring
  • Managing project timelines and ensuring high-quality technical output
  • Contributing to business development and client relationships

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • 3–6+ years’ experience working within an acoustic consultancy
  • A degree in Acoustics, Physics, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience delivering building acoustics projects
  • Strong technical reporting and communication skills
  • Experience using noise modelling software such as ODEON or SoundPLAN
  • The ability to manage projects and work both independently and as part of a team
  • A full UK driving licence

Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) or progress towards professional accreditation would be beneficial.
