Client Summary:

Our client was launched in Ireland in 2010 and offers an online cross-border payment and foreign exchange service to customers globally. Over the past 10 years the company has on-boarded over 150,000 customers. It currently offers 20 currencies in well-established currency corridors for international payments.

Role:

Seeking a Junior Accountant to manage accurate and timely invoicing, support accounts payable and expense-related activities, and assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance billing processes, delivering excellent customer service by addressing billing and expense inquiries, maintaining accurate financial records, performing bank reconciliations, and supporting the Finance team in providing precise financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices to clients/customers in line with their contractual terms and billing schedules.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing billing documentation and responding to enquiries.
  • Conduct bank reconciliation activities.
  • Facilitate the Accounts Payable function and expense-related activities in a regular and timely way
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall billing processes, systems, and customer experience.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to billing and expense-related enquiries or requests promptly and professionally.
  • Supporting the Finance team in the delivery of timely and accurate financial information.
  • Manage accurate and timely accounting journals, bank recs and controls.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations at month end for the review process
  • Involvement in ad-hoc financial analysis, projects, and initiatives as assigned by the Financial Controller.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or equivalent in Commerce, Finance, Business or Economics
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/Masters or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years PQE, with experience in the Fintech or financial services sector.
  • Strong quantitative abilities
  • Strong knowledge of billing processes, revenue recognition principles, and best practices.
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills with a can-do attitude
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure - due to the international time zones - flexible availability at times will be required
  • Advanced computer software skills, in Excel and other accounting packages
