Senior Town Planner

Location: Cardiff or Bristol (Hybrid)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + Benefits

The Opportunity

A well-established and respected planning and design consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Town Planner to join its expanding team in either Cardiff or Bristol.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in delivering a range of high-profile development and regeneration projects, helping to create sustainable and well-designed places across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects from early feasibility to submission and determination
• Prepare planning applications, assessments, appeals, and policy representations
• Conduct site appraisals, research, and planning strategy work
• Provide high-quality planning advice to clients, partners, and stakeholders
• Engage with local authorities, community groups, and statutory consultees
• Mentor and support junior planners within the team
• Assist with business development, proposal writing, and client relationship management

Candidate Requirements

• MRTPI qualified or working towards full chartered status
• Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and local planning policy
• Demonstrated experience in either planning consultancy or local authority planning
• Excellent communication, report writing, and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage projects independently while contributing effectively to a team
• Organised, proactive, and commercially minded
