We are currently working on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering consultancy to recruit an experienced Civil Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute their design expertise across a wide variety of commercial and residential development projects.
The successful candidate will be joining a consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions, working on projects ranging from small-scale highway improvements to large, multi-million-pound developments. The Role:
As a Civil Engineer, you will provide technical support and design input on a wide range of infrastructure, drainage, earthworks, and highways projects. You’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of developments—from initial appraisal and planning through to detailed design and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce infrastructure and drainage designs in line with current legislation, local authority policies, and industry best practices.
- Prepare detailed design drawings and reports for major and minor residential and commercial developments.
- Liaise effectively with clients, local authorities, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Attend and contribute to project meetings, offering technical guidance and design insights.
Requirements:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years' relevant post-graduate experience in a consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of highway, drainage, and earthworks design standards.
- Familiarity with relevant design standards including DMRB and Manual for Streets.
- Experience with infrastructure design and statutory processes such as S278, S38, and S104 agreements.
- Competency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Site3D and MicroDrainage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate records.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
