An award-winning, independent multidisciplinary consultancy is looking for an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to lead its established geotechnical team in London and drive the growth of its services.

The Opportunity
As Associate, you'll shape the direction of the geotechnical offer, leading and developing a skilled team while staying close to the technical work. The project mix is broad, covering slope engineering, ground movement assessment, infrastructure design and regeneration, across sectors including infrastructure, education, health, commercial, residential, leisure and masterplanning. The work spans the UK and international markets, so no two projects are the same.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical and professional leadership to the geotechnical team and multidisciplinary project teams
Take ownership of projects, balancing technical and commercial insight to deliver successfully and manage risk
Liaise with clients, contractors, sub-consultants and co-professionals throughout project delivery
Build and grow your own network of client and industry contacts
Prepare bids and lead technical presentations, supporting larger commissions
Delegate workload, monitor deliverables and mentor team members
Attend site visits, surveys and inspections associated with geotechnical works
Manage health and safety risk in line with CDM regulations, including site visit and designer risk assessments
Represent the practice at design and project meetings, promoting its services and securing technical approvals
Oversee project management plans, appointment documents, fees and resourcing
About You
BEng or BSc in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering
MEng or MSc (or equivalent) in a geotechnical-related discipline
Chartered status with ICE, the Geological Society or similar
Significant geotechnical experience, including project management
Proven creativity and leadership in the investigation, design and risk assessment of foundations, retaining structures, basements, slopes, earthworks and ground remediation
Strong knowledge of UK ground investigation techniques, construction methods and relevant codes
Recent working knowledge of software such as Slope-W, Wallap, Oasys and Plaxis
Working knowledge of the CDM Regulations
Natural team leadership skills, with the ability to manage resources efficiently and build lasting client relationships
