Land Scout – Kilifi / Kwale Counties (Industrial Land Acquisition)
About the Role
We are seeking a Land Scout with strong local knowledge of Kilifi and Kwale Counties to support the identification and evaluation of land for an upcoming industrial development project. This is a practical, field-oriented role focused on sourcing parcels that meet defined technical, zoning, and accessibility requirements.
The ideal candidate is resourceful, well-connected within the local land market, and experienced in assessing land suitability while coordinating with landowners, agents, and local stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and scout parcels of land (minimum 3 acres) within Kilifi or Kwale Counties, ideally located within 500 meters of MV power lines (11/33 KV) and with access to LV lines.
Verify zoning status (industrial or convertible) and confirm that parcels are not located within flood-prone areas.
Assess accessibility, terrain, and overall suitability for industrial use.
Prepare structured land proposals including GPS coordinates, parcel size, ownership details (or owner representative), indicative pricing, and access information.
Support additional verification and coordination with landowners for parcels shortlisted for further review.
Conduct preliminary due diligence and assist in facilitating discussions or negotiations with sellers where required.
Provide clear and timely reporting to support internal evaluation and acquisition decisions.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of land markets in Kilifi and Kwale Counties.
Previous experience in land scouting, real estate brokerage, land acquisition, or a related field.
Familiarity with zoning considerations, land use regulations, and environmental suitability.
Strong communication and negotiation skills when engaging landowners and local stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage field-based tasks.
Reliable access to transportation for site visits and parcel verification.
