This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a successful and well established multi-disciplinary consultancy with a diverse and skilled employee base.
Their transport planning team provides technical support that helps secure planning consent for developments across the country—ranging from small residential conversions to large-scale new communities, regeneration schemes, commercial estates, and major mixed-use proposals.
The team develops practical transport strategies, focusing on movement, accessibility and placemaking, and communicates information clearly so that clients, stakeholders and decision-makers can easily understand the key messages.

Role Summary
This full-time post is based in central London, with the option to work remotely part of the week. Reporting to senior colleagues, the successful candidate will support the delivery of transport planning services on a range of schemes. Typical activities include:
- Completing tasks allocated by project leads to a professional standard and within agreed timescales.
- Assisting with the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and related planning documentation.
- Producing Travel Plans and information packs and helping develop practical ideas to promote sustainable travel behaviour in new developments.
- Gathering and analysing transport-related data such as traffic flows and public transport usage.
- Providing technical input on design work, including CAD-based drawing tasks or swept-path checks where needed.
- Working alongside colleagues in other disciplines to broaden knowledge of the wider planning process.
- Liaising with project teams and engaging with local authority officers, including attending meetings and supporting senior staff at workshops.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have around a year of experience in transport planning, although strong interest and relevant academic background will also be considered.
- Show enthusiasm for topics such as active travel, placemaking, spatial planning, junction performance, transport policy and appraisal, and related areas.
- Understand the fundamentals of the planning system and key policy documents relevant to transport.
- Be able to work flexibly and manage changing priorities, including occasional work outside core hours when deadlines require it.
- Be confident using Microsoft Office programmes and is comfortable communicating clearly with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
- Have some familiarity with transport and mapping tools (for example: AutoCAD, TEMPRO, junction modelling software, TRICS, GIS or Census datasets).
