Health & Safety Lead (12-month fixed-term contract), Woking, Up to £82,000 (DOE)

As The Health & Safety Lead, you will manage, audit and improve the delivery of H&S systems and processes, reporting to Senior Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the organisation’s Health & Safety compliance programme.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain H&S management systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise and support senior management and operational teams on all H&S matters.
  • Monitor compliance across property assets to meet legislative and industry standards.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and investigations, embedding lessons learned.
  • Prepare and present reports on H&S performance and risks to senior stakeholders.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure employee H&S training is up-to-date and compliant.
  • Deliver incident management reporting and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions.

To Be Considered You Will Have

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Certified Membership of IOSH (or equivalent) 
  • Significant H&S experience within district energy, utilities, facilities management, or residential property sectors.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement H&S management systems and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong track record of providing competent advice to senior management.
  • Experience managing H&S projects from scoping through to completion.
  • Ability to undertake incident investigations and service audits.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK health & safety and property compliance requirements.
