Senior Environmental Consultant (EIA)
Location: UK Wide (remote)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 DOE/Location
We are seeking a high-calibre Senior Environmental Consultant to join a dynamic and growing environmental consultancy in a remote role (UK or Ireland). This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role, make a visible impact across challenging projects, and develop your career within a supportive, modern consultancy culture.
Why this is a great opportunity:
- You’ll work with a company recognised for its technical excellence across Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), industrial emissions licensing, air quality, hydrogeology and more.
- You’ll have the chance to lead and manage complex and high-profile projects (think infrastructure, large-scale residential/commercial developments, data-centres, pharma manufacturing) across Ireland and Europe.
- The role offers real flexibility: hybrid working, remote possibilities (for the right candidate within the EU) with occasional travel to the Dublin office.
- Strong investment in your development: from chartership support to training, mentoring and career growth.
- A progressive work culture: emphasis on work-life balance, inclusivity and well-being (with dedicated support programmes, social events, benefits including bike-to-work, paid parental leave and performance bonuses).
Role and Responsibilities:
As a senior member of the team you will take responsibility for:
- Leading and coordinating major EIA reports and industrial emissions licence applications.
- Authoring technical reports and assessments (screening & scoping, human health impact, operational technical opinions).
- Managing, mentoring and influencing a multidisciplinary team of consultants, scientists, hydrogeologists and sub-contractors.
- Engaging and advising clients, stakeholders and regulators to drive compliance and strategic outcomes.
- Overseeing programmes of work from proposal to delivery, including post-planning support and long‐term strategy.
- Preparing bids and driving business development by anticipating client needs and shaping solutions.
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the environmental consultancy sector, with a proven track record in EIA and/or industrial emissions licensing.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in environmental science or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), outstanding report writing and high attention to detail.
- Experience in site inspections, environmental auditing, liability risk assessments, monitoring programmes and aftercare management is a strong advantage.
- Membership of a recognised professional body (IEMA, IEI, IGI, CIWM, CIWEM or similar) or willingness to achieve chartership is highly desirable.
What you’ll gain:
- Career progression: You’ll join at a senior level but with significant opportunity to grow.
- A diverse portfolio of work across high-impact sectors.
- A flexible and supportive working culture.
- Competitive benefits package including parental leave, bonus scheme, bike-to-work, training and development.
- Join a team that genuinely values wellbeing, inclusion and the opportunity to make a difference in the environmental sector.
