Aztrum is delighted to be partnering with a progressive, design-led Architectural practice in Cardiff that is continuing to grow following the successful award of several exciting new projects across the Education, Cultural and Regeneration sectors.
They are now looking to welcome an experienced Project Architectural Technologist to join their collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects and technical delivery while working within a modern, forward-thinking studio that places design quality, innovation and employee development at the heart of everything they do.
Key Responsibilities for this Project Architectural Technologist role:
- Lead the technical delivery of projects across the Education, Cultural and Regeneration sectors
- Produce detailed technical drawings, construction information and coordinated BIM models using Revit
- Manage smaller-scale projects or take ownership of complex technical packages on larger schemes
- Coordinate with Architects, consultants, contractors and clients throughout project delivery
- Prepare detailed design information, specifications and construction documentation
- Ensure projects comply with UK Building Regulations and current industry standards
- Support and mentor junior team members, delegating work where appropriate
- Assist with fee proposals, programme management and project planning
- Contribute to BIM coordination and maintain high technical standards across live projects
Key Requirements for this Project Architectural Technologist role:
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology
- ACIAT, MCIAT or working towards Chartered status
- Strong proficiency in Revit is essential
- Experience delivering projects through the technical and construction stages
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction detailing and technical documentation
- Experience using NBS Chorus, Navisworks or Solibri would be advantageous
- Understanding of BIM workflows, ISO 19650 and Common Data Environments (CDE)
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
