Supply Chain Specialist / Operations Liaison
San Jose, CA
Opportunity Summary
An established global technology organization is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist / Operations Liaison to serve as a pivotal connector across international production teams, U.S. commercial functions, logistics partners, and key customers. This role is ideal for a supply‑chain professional who thrives at the intersection of operational detail, cross‑regional coordination, and time‑critical problem solving.
As the central conduit between overseas manufacturing and domestic business teams, you will ensure transparency from factory dispatch through final delivery, manage escalations, uphold import/export compliance standards, and drive improvements in communication flow and operational efficiency. This is a high‑visibility opportunity suited for individuals who excel in fast‑moving environments where precision, responsiveness, and global collaboration are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the operational bridge between international production/logistics teams and U.S.-based sales, support, and finance groups, ensuring consistent alignment on priorities, timelines, and fulfillment constraints.
- Oversee shipment lifecycle visibility — from overseas departure through customs clearance and final delivery — ensuring accurate system updates and proactive communication of changes or risks.
- Lead escalation management by diagnosing delays, coordinating stakeholders across time zones, and proposing actionable alternatives to protect customer commitments.
- Partner with customs brokers and logistics providers to execute compliant import/export activities, prepare necessary documentation, and mitigate potential clearance delays.
- Monitor regulatory developments in global trade, including tariff and classification changes, and advise internal teams on potential cost, timeline, or compliance impacts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by refining SOPs, identifying communication or workflow bottlenecks, and supporting new customer onboarding processes.
- Ensure accuracy in shipment‑related invoicing, charge validation, and billing reconciliation.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in supply chain operations, logistics, or international trade.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of import/export compliance, including HS/HTS classification, valuation, and country‑of‑origin determination.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate fast‑paced environments, manage competing priorities, and maintain operational accuracy under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross‑functional teams across different cultures and time zones.
- High proficiency in tracking shipment data, managing escalations, and coordinating with external logistics partners.
- Mandarin language skills (written and verbal) are strongly preferred due to international collaboration needs.
- Willingness to travel as business needs require.
What You’ll Get in Return
- Competitive compensation package
- Health, wellness, and financial benefits
- Opportunities for professional development and global project exposure
- Supportive and collaborative work environment with cross‑regional interactions
- Flexibility and resources to support work–life balance
