Intermediate/Senior Civil Engineer

£45,000 - £55,000

A well-established, engineering consultancy is looking for a Civil Engineer to join its team in either Cardiff or Bristol. The business would ideally like to hear from a Senior Civil Engineer but will also consider strong Intermediate candidates who are ready to step up. Candidates with a drainage focus, highways focus or a blend of both are all welcome.

You will work on a varied mix of projects, taking responsibility for civil engineering design and working closely with colleagues, clients and the wider project team.

What the role involves

• Delivering civil engineering design on a range of projects, with a focus on drainage, highways or both
• Preparing and reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications and reports
• Working with clients, contractors, consultants and approving bodies to keep projects moving
• Managing your own workload, programmes and deliverables, and helping to keep projects on time and within budget
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues, with more leadership responsibility at senior level
• Contributing to bids, fee proposals and client relationships as your experience grows
• Helping to maintain high technical standards and quality across the team

About you

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Relevant UK consultancy experience in drainage, highways or a mixture of both
• Working towards, or holding, Chartered status with ICE or an equivalent body
• Adept at 3D design and modelling using software such as MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Autodesk ICM
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with clients and project teams
• A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to manage multiple projects
• Based within a commutable distance of Cardiff or Bristol
