Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Data Center Low Voltage Estimator to take ownership of estimating and preconstruction for complex data center, mission-critical, structured cabling, fiber, and ICT construction projects.

This is a senior-level opportunity for someone who knows how to take a large set of construction drawings and specifications and turn them into a complete, accurate, and defensible estimate.

The ideal candidate has personally estimated major low-voltage construction packages and understands the entire process — from scope review and detailed takeoffs through labor forecasting, material pricing, vendor quotes, risk identification, and final proposal development.

You should be comfortable reviewing extensive construction documentation, identifying scope gaps, developing detailed Bills of Materials, and creating estimates that leadership can confidently use to price and execute major projects.

Experience with data centers and mission-critical infrastructure is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed estimates for data center, structured cabling, fiber, telecommunications, and ICT construction projects.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, addenda, bid documents, and design narratives.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for structured cabling, fiber, copper, cable tray, pathways, racks, cabinets, telecom rooms, and associated infrastructure.
• Develop accurate labor-hour estimates based on manpower requirements, installation methods, productivity, and project schedules.
• Prepare complete Bills of Materials and material-cost estimates.
• Obtain and analyze pricing from manufacturers, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Identify missing scope, design conflicts, constructability concerns, and project risks.
• Develop project assumptions, exclusions, allowances, and contingencies.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, detailed, and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) estimates.
• Support value engineering and alternative design or installation approaches.
• Review subcontractor and supplier proposals for completeness and accuracy.
• Work closely with operations, project management, engineering, and leadership to ensure estimates reflect real-world field execution.
• Assist in building and improving estimating standards, cost databases, labor-production rates, and estimating processes.
• Support project handoff from preconstruction into operations.

Required Qualifications

• Significant professional experience estimating low-voltage, structured cabling, telecommunications, or ICT construction.
• Proven experience independently developing estimates for large and technically complex projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, telecom plans, and bid packages.
• Thorough understanding of structured cabling, fiber, copper, pathways, racks, cabinets, telecommunications spaces, and related infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of construction labor productivity and manpower requirements.
• Experience developing detailed quantity takeoffs and Bills of Materials.
• Ability to identify scope gaps and create appropriate assumptions, exclusions, allowances, and contingencies.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with Bluebeam or comparable construction takeoff and estimating software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Highly Preferred Experience

• Hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical data center construction.
• Large-scale structured cabling and fiber deployments.
• Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) estimating.
• Multi-million-dollar ICT or low-voltage construction packages.
• Design-build or design-assist projects.
• High-density fiber and structured cabling environments.
• BICSI, RCDD, or related industry certifications are beneficial but not required.
