Senior Engineer – Flood Risk & Drainage
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000
Location: Guildford (Hybrid)

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Engineer to play a pivotal role in the delivery of development-led infrastructure projects. Based in Guildford, the role offers a hybrid working model, combining the flexibility of remote work with collaborative office time.

You will take the lead on technical design, support project planning activities, and ensure all engineering solutions comply with client expectations, regulatory standards and programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the design and delivery of infrastructure solutions for development projects

  • Preparing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Drainage Strategies

  • Producing and reviewing designs using AutoCAD, MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage and similar software

  • Managing projects to meet agreed deadlines, budgets and quality standards

  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop robust engineering solutions

  • Clearly presenting technical information to clients, planning authorities and other stakeholders

Candidate Profile

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

  • Strong technical expertise supported by proven project management experience

  • Demonstrable experience in delivering Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and drainage design software such as MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
