We’re working exclusively with a respected and growing structural engineering consultancy in Derby who are looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to play a key role in the delivery and development of their project workload.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the ongoing growth of a well-run practice.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll lead the design and delivery of structural solutions across a diverse range of projects, from concept through to completion. You’ll act as a technical lead while working closely with clients and the wider design team.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading structural design on projects using steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
Producing and checking calculations, drawings, and technical reports
Managing projects, programmes, and budgets
Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians
Liaising directly with clients, architects, and contractors
Ensuring compliance with Eurocodes and UK building regulations
Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
Typically 5+ years’ UK consultancy experience
Strong technical background across common building materials
Confident using design software such as Tekla, TEDDS, Robot, ETABS, or similar
Chartered or working toward Chartership (IStructE or ICE)
Comfortable leading projects and communicating with clients
