Graduate Civil Engineer

Location: Kingston upon Thames
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 + benefits

An established civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Southwest London is looking to hire a Graduate Civil Engineer to join its growing team in Kingston upon Thames.

The practice works across a broad range of projects, including residential, commercial, education, and mixed-use developments, with a strong reputation for high-quality design, technical excellence, and long-term client relationships. The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain practical experience working closely with senior engineers on live projects from concept through to delivery. You’ll be involved in design, analysis, and coordination, while developing both your technical and professional skills.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the design and analysis of civil engineering works (drainage, highways, and infrastructure)
• Producing technical drawings, calculations, and reports
• Supporting senior engineers with project delivery and coordination
• Attending site visits and design meetings where required
• Working collaboratively within a small, close-knit engineering team

What They’re Looking For

• A degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related discipline)
• Strong academic background with a genuine interest in civil engineering design
• Familiarity with UK design standards and engineering principles
• Proficiency or willingness to learn relevant software (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage or similar)
• Good communication skills and a proactive, enthusiastic attitude
