Structural Engineer – Senior / Principal / Associate

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a modern, forward-thinking civil & structural engineering consultancy for an experienced Structural Engineer at Senior, Principal or Associate level.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, design-led practice with a strong reputation for quality, precision and innovation across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The successful candidate will already be operating in a similar role and will be responsible for:
Delivering projects from concept design through to detailed design, including full tender and construction packages
Producing project documentation, structural calculations and design sketches
Attending client, design team and site meetings
Undertaking structural/site surveys and preparing structural reports
Liaising with statutory authorities, Architects, M&E consultants and contractors
Managing projects and delegating tasks to Technicians (particularly at Principal / Associate level)
We are keen to speak with candidates who demonstrate:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural engineering (8+ years for Principal / Associate level)
BEng / MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
Chartered status or working towards Chartered Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
Strong technical design capability across steel, reinforced concrete, timber, masonry and composite construction to British Standards and Eurocodes
Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven project management ability
Experience attending and contributing to site meetings
Strong report writing skills and exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise a demanding workload
Technical Skills:
Working knowledge of the Tekla design suite (e.g. Tedds, Structural Designer, Portal Frame, Connection Designer) or similar
Competent in Microsoft Office
AutoCAD and Revit experience beneficial (not essential)
Understanding of Civil Engineering principles including drainage and groundworks
Sufficient IT capability to support hybrid working
Competitive salary circa £50,000+ per annum (depending on experience and level)
