We are looking for an experienced Head of Finance to join an exciting, ethical, and values-driven organisation based in Sheffield, they are a leading distributor and retailer of high-quality health supplements. 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day finance functioning of the business. 

You will lead on the production of accurate and timely management information; accounting for stock and cost of sales; financial forecasting including, budgets, and daily cash flows; standard costing and product pricing strategies; overseas supplier liaison and application of improved payment strategies; daily bank management, forecasting and implantation of FX strategies.

This role is a key position within the business and the right candidate will oversee all financial processes as well as supporting decision-making at board level

Responsibilities

  • Overall management of ledger functions – (2x purchase ledger/sales ledger and Finance Assistant)
  • Maintain and support relationships with key partners (bank, accountants, suppliers)
  • Review and analyse product pricing; maintain standard costing to commercial/standard accounting
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and regular cash flow forecasts
  • Contribute to management meetings
  • Statutory compliance – VAT returns;  PAYE / VAT reconciliations
  • Prepare and maintain daily cash flow – including the planning for FX purchases, use of forward purchased currencies
  • Preparation of files for annual accounts
  • Technical support to the business including analysis of data for decision making

Requirements

  • Leadership qualities and experience of leading a finance team
  • Qualified / Part qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA)
  • High proficiency in Excel
  • Expert Knowledge of Sage 50 Cloud; importing data into and exporting from; advanced data handling skills
  • Experience with building reports analysing and interpreting data
  • Understanding/experience of e-commerce systems – reports and reconciliations
  • Skilled at implementing process improvements and efficiencies
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • A thirst for learning and improvement

Salary

  • Salary of  £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
