Acoustic Engineer – London
Salary: £27,000 - £35,000

Aztrum is currently working with a specialist international environmental consultancy that is looking to appoint an Acoustic Engineer to join its growing UK team.

This is a varied role that combines environmental acoustics consultancy with software support, customer engagement, training coordination and commercial administration. It would suit someone who is highly organised, technically minded, and keen to develop across both consultancy delivery and the software side of the acoustics sector.

The business works across a broad range of science-led environmental projects, supporting clients with permitting, financing and wider corporate objectives. The UK team also collaborates closely with international colleagues on multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional projects.

Alongside its consultancy work, the company acts as the exclusive UK distributor for a leading environmental noise modelling software platform, used extensively by acousticians, engineers and environmental professionals. A key part of this role will involve supporting the distribution, training and customer support function for that software across the UK.

The Role

As an Acoustic Engineer, you will act as a central point of contact for software-related enquiries, supporting customers with quotations, orders, licences, renewals, training coordination and technical queries.

You will also contribute to environmental consultancy projects, primarily within noise, including proposal preparation, modelling, baseline measurements, technical reporting and drawing robust scientific conclusions.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain exposure to both the technical consultancy and commercial software sides of a specialist environmental business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing software quotations, including module costs, licence types and renewal agreements.

  • Tracking payments and liaising with internal accounts teams.

  • Maintaining accurate records of customers, licences and subscriptions.

  • Supporting marketing and business development activity, including brochures, mailouts, lead lists and CRM updates.

  • Providing technical software support to new and existing customers.

  • Supporting the delivery of noise modelling software training.

  • Preparing environmental consultancy proposals and technical reports.

  • Conducting on-site baseline noise measurements.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A BSc in a scientific, engineering, acoustics or related discipline.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interpret technical data and draw meaningful conclusions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Comfortable working with customers, internal teams and technical software products.

  • A collaborative approach and willingness to work across both consultancy and commercial support functions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Why Apply?

This is a great opportunity to join a growing specialist environmental consultancy in a role that offers genuine variety. You’ll gain exposure to environmental noise consultancy, technical software support, customer engagement, training coordination and commercial operations, all within a collaborative and technically focused business.

If you’re looking for a role that blends acoustics, software, consultancy and client interaction, this could be a strong next step.
