Overview
 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Hydrogeologist to join a growing consultancy, delivering a diverse range of water-related projects across the UK.

The Opportunity
 Following continued success, new client wins, and ambitious growth plans, the company is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to take a leading role in projects spanning the minerals, waste, agriculture, housing, and environmental sectors.

You’ll work alongside a highly skilled technical team, contributing to innovative, data-driven solutions while supporting the delivery of high-quality hydrogeological assessments. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your expertise and help shape the future direction of the hydrogeology function within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver robust hydrogeological assessments with minimal supervision.
  • Provide technical advice to clients and regulatory bodies (EA, NRW, SEPA).
  • Prepare and review detailed technical reports and documentation.
  • Manage projects within defined timescales and budgets.
  • Support or lead groundwater modelling activities where relevant.
  • Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Undertake site visits across the UK (and occasionally overseas).

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant subject, with a postgraduate qualification in hydrogeology or related field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in consultancy or a similar professional setting.
  • Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks (EA, NRW, SEPA, LLFAs).
  • Proven analytical and numerical ability to quantify groundwater flow.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with groundwater modelling software (desirable).
  • GIS proficiency (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence.
