Senior Geotechnical Engineer

We are working with a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy to recruit a Senior Geotechnical Engineer as part of their continued growth.

Our client operates nationally, delivering high-quality engineering solutions across residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and a collaborative approach, they are looking to strengthen their geotechnical capability with an experienced hire.

The Role

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering geotechnical services across a varied project portfolio.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing ground investigation programmes (Phase 1 and Phase 2)
  • Producing and reviewing geotechnical interpretative reports
  • Undertaking foundation design, slope stability analysis and earthworks assessments
  • Providing geotechnical input into multidisciplinary project teams
  • Managing projects, budgets and client relationships
  • Mentoring junior staff and supporting team development
  • Supporting business development and contributing to new work opportunities

About You

To be considered, you should have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline
  • Proven experience within a consultancy environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK ground investigation standards and practices
  • Experience in geotechnical design and reporting
  • Chartered status, or working towards chartership (ICE or Geological Society)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage client relationships
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach
