Mechanical Engineer - Building Services
Fully Remote – UK Based
£50,000 – £55,000

A well-established Building Services consultancy is expanding its team and is on the lookout for a Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer to join on a fully remote basis.

This opportunity would suit someone already working at Senior level, though strong Mechanical Engineers looking to progress into that role are equally encouraged to apply. With a healthy and consistent project pipeline, the consultancy offers genuine stability and a varied caseload of Building Services work, free from the unpredictability often found in fast-moving environments.

The Role

The focus here is on design and build projects, working alongside contractors and wider project teams to shape mechanical solutions that are practical and genuinely buildable.

You'll take real ownership of mechanical design, guiding projects from initial concept through to completion. Background gained working for, or in close partnership with, a major contractor would be a strong advantage, given the emphasis on the practical realities of design and build delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading mechanical design on design and build projects
• Shaping engineering solutions that are practical and buildable
• Producing mechanical calculations, specifications and drawings
• Owning and driving key design decisions
• Collaborating closely with contractors, clients and project teams
• Making sure designs align with current regulations, standards and best practice
• Supporting projects from concept right through to completion

What They're Looking For

• HNC, HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer
• Exposure to working with or alongside a major contractor is desirable
• Solid mechanical design knowledge within Building Services
• The confidence to own designs and lead projects forward
• A practical, solutions-driven mindset
• A reliable, proactive nature and a collaborative approach to work
• Experience working for a main contractor (ideal but not essential)
