Our client is an Australian-based non-bank lender specialising in finance for primary assets including transport, construction, materials handling and earthmoving equipment. They also finance secondary and tertiary assets. Through their Vendor Program, they can provide equipment partners with a finance solution tailored to their business. They are not a bank. Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have intermediate skills in SQL, experience working with stakeholders to gather business requirements, and proficiency in Power BI (PBI) for data visualization. The BI Analyst will be responsible for transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
●Data Analysis & Reporting:
○Query databases using intermediate-level SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
○Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
○Ensure data integrity and accuracy in reporting.
●Stakeholder Engagement:
○Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, gather requirements, and translate them into data-driven solutions.
○Communicate complex data findings in a simple, actionable way to non-technical stakeholders.
○Provide ad hoc reports and analysis to support decision-making across the organization.
●Data Management & Visualization:
○Work with large datasets from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
○Develop and optimize Power BI reports and visualizations to support various business functions.
○Identify trends, patterns, and key insights to improve business performance.
●Continuous Improvement:
○Suggest improvements for existing reporting processes and dashboards.
○Stay updated with BI tools and best practices, and recommend new tools or methods for improving data analysis and reporting efficiency.
Key Skills and Key Qualifications:
●Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
●2-4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar role.
●Intermediate-level SQL skills (ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries).
●Intermediate experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, creating visualizations).
●Experience working with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
●Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
●Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
●Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
●Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
●Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
●Experience in a specific industry (e.g., finance, healthcare, retail).
