Senior Architectural Technologist

Aztrum is delighted to be partnering with a progressive, design-led Architectural practice in Cardiff that is continuing to grow following the successful award of several exciting new projects across the Education, Cultural and Regeneration sectors.

They are now looking to welcome an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to join their collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead project teams through the technical stages of design, mentor junior colleagues and play a key role in delivering high-quality projects within an innovative and forward-thinking practice.

Key Responsibilities for this Senior Architectural Technologist role:

• Lead the technical delivery of multiple projects across the Education, Cultural and Regeneration sectors
• Produce and coordinate detailed technical drawings, construction information and BIM models using Revit
• Manage project programmes, resources and technical delivery from design through to completion
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants and contractors throughout project delivery
• Prepare detailed specifications, technical documentation and construction packages
• Ensure projects comply with UK Building Regulations, industry standards and legislative requirements
• Lead BIM coordination and promote best practice across project teams
• Mentor and develop junior team members, providing technical guidance and project leadership
• Assist with fee proposals, resource planning and project programming
• Monitor quality assurance and ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard

Key Requirements for this Senior Architectural Technologist role:

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology
• MCIAT, Chartered Architectural Technologist or equivalent professional accreditation
• Strong proficiency in Revit is essential, with AutoCAD experience advantageous
• Extensive experience delivering projects through the technical and construction stages
• Excellent knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction detailing and technical documentation
• Experience with NBS Chorus, BIM workflows, ISO 19650 and Common Data Environments (CDE)
• Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement routes and project delivery
• Excellent communication, leadership and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects while mentoring and supporting junior team members
