We are now looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join a well-established and very reputable manufacturing business based in Halifax, West Yorkshire who specialise in the importation and distribution of a wide range of wood-based panel products.

This role will be full time, Monday to Saturday based in the warehouse, initially this will be on a day shift during training, progressing to become a permanent night shift once training is fully complete and you will be required to efficiently handle and process warehouse orders in preparation for delivery to customers. You will liaise with warehouse managers, product managers, and sales area groups to ensure excellent customer service. 

Please Note: A mandatory requirement of the role will be for the candidate to have a full clean driving license. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• To take responsibility for all warehouse operations including storing, retrieval and distribution of products
• Ensure that all customers receive an excellent service
• Develop relationships with Customers, Suppliers and Hauliers
• Support the Warehouse Manager to ensure company's targets and objectives are met.
• Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are adhered to in line with Company procedures and requirements, particularly Health and Safety regulations.
• Make suggestions for productivity improvements.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of warehouse processes.

Requirements:

• Excellent team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other members of the warehouse team.
• Computer literacy, including use of scanners and relevant software programs, such as warehouse management systems
• Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills to coordinate large volumes of goods.
• Honesty and trustworthiness
• The ability to work efficiently under limited supervision.
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Attention to detail 
• Physical strength, fitness and dexterity, due to regularly lifting heavy packages or working at elevated heights.
• Experience working in a similar warehouse environment would be desired.

Qualifications desired:

• Forklift Certificate 
• First Aid Certificate
• Working at Heights Certificate
• GCSE's or equivalent
• Clean UK Driving License (Essential)

Benefits:                 

• Holidays – 23 days, increasing with service after 5 years
• Bonus – Guaranteed 10% Annual bonus (pro rata for new starters)
• Pension – 7%

Salary:

Day shift salary - £23,484.00 per annum

The operative will start on the above rate until the training process is complete then progressing to:

Evening shift – £25,824.00 per annum

Once the successful candidate has completed the 6 month training on day shifts. They will transfer onto the night shift. The night shift working week begins Monday evening 10:30pm and finishes at 6:00am on a Saturday morning. The successful candidates will have 5 shifts per week of 10:30pm until 6:00am.
