We are working on behalf of a Sheet Metalwork leading supplier of sheet metal and tubular components, assemblies and light fabrications to customers throughout the UK employing over 200+ people.
The precision fabrication company provides the full range of subcontract engineering services, including tube and sheet laser cutting, tube and sheet bending, fabrication, powder coating and assembly from factory in County Durham. They are looking to add a Powder Coater to their already established team, roles will become permanent for the right people.
Working on a 2-shift rotation after some initial training, applicants must have at least 1 years’ experience of working on ideally a powder coat or wet paint plant. Experience of working to and understanding engineering drawings is desirable but not essential. The ability to work unsupervised is required as although in a team of approx. 5 people. You will be required to work through various jobs without assistance.
Duties will include, selecting paint from stock and preparing both the spray booth and powder coating guns for each new job, performing frequent change overs of colour, spraying parts of various size and ensuring paint thickness and gloss levels are correct on finished product. On occasions they may be required to jig up parts ready to paint, masking parts from drawing detail, packing finished parts and general housekeeping duties as and when required.
Dayshift: (training period) Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00 and Friday 08:00 - 12:30
Week 1: Monday to Thursday 14:30 - 23:00, Friday 12:30 - 19:00
Week 2: Monday to Friday 06:00 - 14:30
Pay: £12.07 per hour
