Senior Town Planner – Bristol
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a design-focused, forward-thinking town planning consultancy as it continues to grow its Bristol presence. This is a chance to become part of a business where planning is not an afterthought, but a driving force behind high-quality development.
You’ll be joining a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary studio, working side-by-side with architects and designers to help shape projects from the earliest concepts through to successful planning outcomes. The role offers genuine variety, responsibility and the opportunity to influence how schemes evolve — creatively and commercially.
The Opportunity
This role will suit an experienced Town Planner looking to step into a senior position within a private consultancy environment, although planners with strong public sector experience are very much encouraged to apply.
You’ll be involved in a broad mix of work, including strategic land, complex applications and major developments, and will be either RTPI Chartered or actively progressing towards Chartership. Strong communication skills, confidence working with clients and stakeholders, and a collaborative mindset are key to success in this role.
Beyond project delivery, you’ll be encouraged to play an active role in the growth and profile of the business — through client engagement, networking and professional platforms such as LinkedIn — with the opportunity to contribute ideas and help shape the wider direction of the practice.
Career Progression & Culture
This consultancy is genuinely invested in its people, offering a clear and transparent career pathway with long-term progression opportunities, including the potential for future share ownership. The Bristol office provides a vibrant and supportive working environment, complemented by flexible and hybrid working options.
