Senior Building Performance Modelling Engineer 

Location: Glasgow 

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 

An independent building services design consultancy is seeking to hire a Senior Building Performance Modelling Engineer to join their growing team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are keen to develop their career with a focus on Sustainability in the built environment. 

Key responsibilities:

• Assist Building Services Engineers and Sustainability Specialists with technical analysis and reporting
• Carry out Part L / Section 6 compliance assessments and contribute to operational energy modelling (TM54)
• Provide sustainability advice throughout the design process
• Attend site visits to observe works in progress and gain practical project experience
• Continually develop technical knowledge of building environmental systems and work towards professional accreditation
• Support decarbonisation studies and sustainability assessments, including BREEAM and NABERS
• Use IES-VE to deliver energy, compliance, and performance assessments
• Undertake building performance modelling and analysis to support building services design decisions

What we’re looking for:

• Degree qualified related to the Built Environment/Engineering
• Working knowledge of IES-VE software 
• Hold a Low Carbon Energy Assessor certification (Non-domestic Buildings)
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Building Physics related role
• Knowledge of heat transfer, energy, thermal comfort and natural ventilation
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
